Interesting. But unless the instruction comes from WT, a JW will only have a glazed look come over their eyes and they'll mentally shut down.

Why do Jehovah's Witnesses keep track of field service hours?
by Faithful Witness ini understand that they claim to have the responsibility to preach to every corner of the earth, so they can encourage armageddon to come quickly.
(matthew 24:14 "and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
what rationale do they have, for keeping track of their hours and literature placements?

Another reason they give for reporting is that it is "encouraging."
When the local JWs are wasting 2-10 hrs/mo, place little, no "progressive bible students," and seeing no benefit to door-knocking, the world-wide report of bajillions of hours and millions of bible-based-publication studies is supposed to be encouraging. There supposed to get a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that their wasted time and energy was a part of a larger-scale time and energy wasting yearly total.

Service Meeting Part about Sisters Wearing Head Coverings
by TTATTelder inthis week's service meeting had another part about women wearing head coverings.there's already been a post about it, but i would like some thoughts from the forum on the scripture referenced.
11: 3-10. i want to focus on verses 4-6. it says this (nnwt):.
"4)every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head shames his head; 5) but every woman who prays or prophesies+ with her head uncovered shames her head, for it is one and the same as if she were a woman with a shaved head.

Paul was a total a$shole. He never met Jesus and he taught an entirely different slavery to a new law of his own creation. Don't forget that in 1 Cor. 14:34 he clearly states that women should say NOTHING in the congregation.
Continuing in 1 Cor. 11:7, Paul explains that "a man ought not to have his head covered..." The context is clear that he's not just talking about when preaching or prophecying but EVER. So men should never wear hats. And since it's supposedly a dishonor for men to have long hair in 11:14, shouldn't men shave their heads?
To top off the idiocy of Paul, he concludes with 11:10, "That is why the woman ought to have a sign of authority upon her head because of the angels." ... Because of the angels? Seriously? What does that mean? Will the angels be stumbled because a hatless woman prays in the presence of her 11-year-old baptized son? I suspect that Paul was hinting at the notion that the angels are still horny for women and that the women needed to wear hats to remind the angels that women only belonged to men and not available to the angels.
Paul, if he even existed, was a nut of epic proportions.

Welcome!
My first suggestion would be to develop an episode of explosive diarrhea Sunday morning and tell another brother to do the WT study.
My second suggestion would be to generously use the terms, "current teaching," "current understanding," "evidently," or maybe "this year the brothers are telling us that..." If the want to sound like Brother On-The-Ball, suggest to the brothers that they need to update the entry "Generation" in their Insight Volume to say the opposite of what's there... that a generation now overlaps and is now longer than a century. And suggest that if they've been updating their Reasoning books with each of the new generation teachings that they need to again correct pages 97, 136, 234, 239, and 242.

WTS overboard w/suggested presentation
by doinmypart inthe nov 2013 km contains an article that is ridiculous in its level of minutae.. they focus on the word "because".
they tell jws to use the word "because" when explaining why they're at the homeowner's door.
writing department, you wrote an article on the use of the word "because"?
-
Billy the Ex-Bethelite
Yeah. That "I'm here because..." line sounds like it's designed to brainwash the dubs rather than to convince a householder of anything.

I think the "Go Bag" has been a redirection from, "the organization of brothers are ready to take care of us at any moment of need."
As much as they've preached that Jehovah, the organization, and the brothers are there for you in any hour of need, that's not really what they want you to do. They really want you to rely on yourself first, then your fleshly family and the government. The few times the organization is prepared to do anything, you can expect that it will be exploited for Watchtower PR.

What have the 'myriads of angels' ever done for humanity?
by yadda yadda 2 inthink about it, myriads upon myriads of do-nothing, never lift a finger angels floating around, ignoring all the untold pain and suffering on this planet for thousands of years.
what have all these millions of angels ever done for anyone?
occasional random materialisations in ancient israelite times?.

Billy the Ex-Bethelite
I'm pretty sure that all the angels are busy monitoring who masturbates and how often.

Why Is A Tiny Ant More Complex Than A Religious Persons God?
by JamesThomas inwe never hear of people speaking in the name of ants.
never do people say this or that is what an ant wants, or this is what will make an ant like you, or hate you, etc.
we just don't know how ants think.
-
Billy the Ex-Bethelite
Ants are so marvelous and complex that they HAD to be created by a superior intelligence.
But God? Pfft. He came from nothing, outa nowhere, no intelligent design required.
